ARTISTVeliko Marinchevski

Veliko is an award winning printmaker born in 1979 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
He studied at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, graduating with MA of Printmaking in 2005. He then continued his academic practice completing a PhD level at the Printmaking Department of the academy.

Veliko spent time in China’s Guanlan Printmaking Base where he made some of his popular work from the ‘Moonlight Reflections’ series.

He was granted an Honorary Villager award in Guanlan, China and become a Vice President of the International Printmaking Organizations Alliance (IPOA) in China.

Some of Veliko’s most distinguished award achievements include The Grand Prix at Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition- BIMPE VI in Vancouver, Canada, Award for The Best Print on International Biennial Sint-Niklaas in Belgium, Honorary Medal at the 13th International Triennial of Small Graphic Forms, Poland, Lodz, Jean Couy Prize at the 8th International Biennale de l’Estampe, France and most recently The Distinctive Award from the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture for ‘Outstanding Achievements in the Development of Bulgarian Art and Culture’.

Veliko is currently an assistant professor at the printmaking department of the National Academy of Arts in Sofia.
