Description
London Passport Map WW2 is made by original passport covers from 1930s and 1940s and historic census data. Every borough of London is depicted with 3 or 4 passports of the largest foreign-born nationalities as documented in the census from WW2. Yanko then used silkscreen and genuine 24ct Gold Leaf to gild every Coat of Arm creating a metallic layer that reflects the light.
London Passport Map WW2 was first exhibited at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022 at gallery IV, curated by Grayson Perry.
